Artist's Description

Great black-backed gulls are the largest gulls, with wing-spans up to 5 ft 7 ins. They are omnivorous predators, eating shellfish, carrion and even other birds. Always ready to fight off other gulls or chase them to snatch food, this juvenile knows its status and cuts a strong figure against the dark water reflections in the background.

James Lamb Photo

For commercial use or full resolution downloads click: James Lamb Photo Licensing For prints and framed prints click: James Lamb Photo Prints I have been taking photos since I was about 7. At university in 1978 my first SLR was an Olympus OM1, completely manual and built like a Swiss watch. When I started work, taking pictures was relegated to weekends and holidays as finding time became more difficult. Now having retired I can pursue my passion.
